This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use Bizfisher (the “Service”), including Hunt (free browsing) and Desk (paid subscription).

This is a draft operational policy for the site. It is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide - Account details (name, email, password or auth provider data) - Profile / buy-box preferences you set (e.g. CoC, DSCR, equity, location filters) - Deal alert sign-ups: your email and the criteria you give us (e.g. industry, state, price range, cash flow) - Saved listings, notes, to-dos, NDA/workflow data you enter - Support messages and emails you send us - Billing contact details needed for subscriptions

Payment information Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers or CVV. Stripe may collect billing name, address, card details, and fraud-prevention data under Stripe’s privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy

Information collected automatically - Device and browser data, IP address, approximate location, pages viewed, referring URLs - Product events (e.g. signup, desk_start, paid, save_listing, paywall_view, pricing_view) - Cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy)

Analytics We use PostHog (or similar product analytics) to understand product usage and funnels. Analytics may process IP, device, and event data.

Advertising (when enabled) If we run Meta/Facebook, Google, or similar ads, those platforms may receive hashed identifiers, cookie/pixel data, or conversion events to measure and improve ads, subject to your cookie/consent choices and those platforms’ policies.

Listing / marketplace data Bizfisher aggregates publicly available business-for-sale and related listing information from third-party sources. Listing content is not your personal information, but if you save or annotate listings, that association is tied to your account.

2. How we use information - Provide, operate, and improve Hunt and Desk - Process subscriptions, invoices, cancellations, and fraud prevention - Send transactional email (account, billing, security) - Send deal alerts matching the criteria you give us, and use those criteria to tailor related Bizfisher offers - With your consent or as allowed by law, send product updates/marketing (you may opt out) - Analyze usage and fix bugs - Comply with law and enforce our Terms - Protect rights, safety, and security of users and Bizfisher

3. How we share information We do not sell your personal information for money.

We share information with:
- Service providers who help us run the Service (hosting, email, analytics, customer support, payment processing), under contracts that limit their use
- Stripe for payments
- Advertising/analytics partners when ads or analytics are enabled, as described above
- Legal / safety recipients when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights
- Business transfers (merger, acquisition, asset sale) with notice where required

Third-party listing boards and brokers are independent; visiting or contacting them is subject to their policies.

5. Your choices and rights Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to opt out of certain processing (including marketing emails and, where required, targeted advertising).

6. Retention We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including subscription history, security logs, and legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it.

7. Security We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Children Bizfisher is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where that higher age applies). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International users We operate in the United States. If you access the Service from elsewhere, you understand information may be processed in the U.S.

10. Changes We may update this Policy. We will post the new effective date on this page and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
