Why does daycare carry a license note?
Child care centers usually need a state license, inspections and zoning approval, and capacity is limited by staff ratios and space. Those rules can limit new centers in some places.
Why might home daycares be missing?
Licensed family child care homes often don't appear as places in open map data, so counts can run low.
What transfers when buying a daycare?
Enrollment, staff, the building or lease and equipment. A child care license often doesn't transfer automatically and may need a new application.
